Entire LAS Staff Gets COVID-19 Vaccine in Adherence to MOH Recommendation

The Liberia Albinism Society (LAS), a Non Governmental Organization responsible to advocate for the rights of Persons with Albinism in Liberia, in adherence to the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization recommendations on Friday, June 18, 2021 led her entire staff to get vaccinated by the Vaccination Team from the Ministry of Health. The institution said the move is in keeping with government efforts to protecting its’ citizens against the deadly coronavirus.

In brief remarks right after she got the first vaccine, the Executive Director of LAS, Patricia N. C. Logan, took the opportunity to encourage her staff about the importance of being vaccinated. She said that the vaccine is very safe for human consumption and urged them to get the vaccine so as to protect themselves and reduce the risk of contracting the virus.

She also lamented that it’s better to play safe by getting the vaccine and avoid being treated because prevention is better than cure. “While we fight this deadly disease, let’s remember to always wash our hands, avoid shaking hands, wear our face masks and continue social distancing, Madam Logan added.

Meanwhile, the head of the Vaccination Team of the Health Ministry also added his voice to encourage Liberians to get the vaccine and stop living in fear of being negatively affected by the Coronavirus vaccine. He said the vaccine was tested to be safe and ready for use by the World Health Organization, US and Africa Centers for Disease Control.

The Head of the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 Immunization Team is asking the public not to fail to report cases of coronavirus to the nearest health authority.
