Lack of Fuel and Funding is Detrimental to Health Services at the Government-run Tellewoyan Hospital in Lofa County

The administration of the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Lofa County is concerned about the lack of operational funding for the effective management of the government’s only reference health centre in the county.

Albert Kullie, who is the administrator of the Hospital in Voinjama City, told journalists on Thursday, April 13,2023 that the absence of fuel and operational funds is a major challenge confronting the day-to-day activities of the hospital.

Mr. Kullie stated that the facility requires 72 gallons of fuel to operate its generator for 24 hours.

He noted that although USAID and UNDP provided solar panels for the laboratory and operational theatre, other departments of the hospital are still in total darkness.
