Fines for institutions booked in violation of health protocols have been adjusted from US$200 to US$1,500, according to the Liberian National Police.
The LNP warned that any institution caught in breach of the protocols will be obliged to pay the fine or be closed.
They named a few of the institutions as churches and entertainment centers among others.
Police spokesman Moses Carter said that anyone caught in the street without a mask will be required to pay a fine of L$1000 each for the first and second offences.
He added that a third offense would result in a penalty of imprisonment of 30 days.
The police spokesman said that the measures will be a deterrent for violators of health protocols.
