Margibi Citizens Assured of Burned C. H. Rennie Hospital Speedy Reconstruction

President George Weah assured the citizens of Margibi County that work to rebuild the damaged C. H. Rennie referral hospital will start this Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

Speaking Monday, August 16, 2021 in Kakata City when he visited the scene of the damaged hospital, the Liberian leader said he was informed that the hospital was gutted by fire due to electrical problems.

President Weah lamented that it was observed that the hospital did not have a fire extinguisher, a situation that led to the fire completely burning down a large portion of the hospital.

The Liberian Leader also disclosed that going forward authorities must ensure that measures are put in place so that the incident cannot be repeated.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr. Willimina Jallah described the incident as a sad day for the people of Margibi County and the Ministry of Health to see the County’s only referral hospital damaged.

She said the Ministry and the Margibi County Health Team are carrying on assessments to ascertain the level of damage.
