Over the weekend, the Ministry of Health partnered with the Grand Gedeh County Nurses Association to celebrate International Nurses Day, a global event recognizing the invaluable contributions nurses make to saving lives.
The festivities welcomed nurses from various health centers throughout the county, all rallying around the theme of “Collaboration and Integration of Nurses around the Globe.”
The celebration kicked off with a vibrant street parade in Zwedru, culminating at the former hospital building.
During the occasion, Thomas Q. Neewary, the head of Nurses in Grand Gedeh, spoke to the importance of recognizing the daily sacrifices made by nurses worldwide. He emphasized the significance of raising awareness about the crucial role nurses play in preserving lives.
Neewary went on to commend nurses for their tremendous sacrifices in restoring lives and called on them to prioritize professionalism in their duties.
Other nurses in attendance pledged their tireless efforts in saving lives and urged their colleagues to join them in their mission.
