Senator Koung Breaks Ground For Operational Theatre At Bahn Health Center

The Senator of Nimba County, Jeremiah Kpan Koung has broken ground for the construction of an Operational Theatre, a labor and Maternal Wards at the Bahn Health Center in Bahn City Nimba County.

Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony over the weekend in Bahn City, Senator Koung said he has observed for several years that most mothers die while give birth, adding that transferring them to other referral health facilities while in labor has been one of the causes.

Senator Koung at the same time called on the leaders and residents of Bahn to consider the project as their own and join him, stressing that the job which estimated cost is not being disclosed to this medium should be done in the next six months.

The Nimba Senator who is affectionately known as “Nimba Operational Senator”, prior to his ascendency to the Senatorial seat initiated the first operational theatre project in Karnplay City, a building which has been completed with other essential health and other operational equipments being installed.

Mr. Koung has meanwhile promised to leave at least a development project in each of Nimba’s nine electoral districts before his first nine years term is completed, with health being the major priority.

He wants every Nimbaian to forget negative undertakings and work with him for the forward match of the county.

For his part, Bahn City Mayor, Rubben Kpayor Tuazama has pledged he and the citizens commitment and support in working with the project management team and the senator’s office for the speedy implementation of the project.

Mayor Tuazama called on residents of Bahn to consider securing more land in the area as more developments are about to go to the city.

He warned them to stop encroaching on government land in the City if there should be no hindrances to development projects that may go to the city in the future.
