House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers has identified with a single mother Rachel Richards and her three years old daughter who left eye is reportedly damaged as a result of cancer.
Following an SOS call on a local media outlet in Paynesville, the Maryland County lawmaker requested to see the lady and her daughter.
Speaker Chambers said though he is not from Nimba County where the lady and her daughter come from, but after listening to their story he felt touched and contributed the amount of US$1,100.00 as fees to take care of little Abigail Johnson medicals.
Apart from the amount for the medicals, Speaker Chambers give additional US$300.00 to the girl’s mother to help her start a little business to enable her contribute to the upkeep of her daughter.
With tears rolling down her cheek, Rachel Richards thanked speaker Chambers for his humanitarian gesture; something she described as timely because according to her she has been worried about her daughter’s sight.
