Tragic Death of National Pageant Trainer Sparks Investigation: Liberia National Police Vows Justice in Wake of Electoral Violence

The death of Joshua Solomon in the 72nd Community has sparked an investigation by the Liberia National Police. It is reported that Solomon was brutally beaten by an angry mob during a period of electoral violence. Prior to his tragic death, Solomon held the position of national pageant trainer at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism.

During a recent press conference, Moses Carter, the spokesperson for the LNP, emphasized that they will not overlook any details regarding the incident that led to Joshua’s untimely demise. The LNP is committed to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable.

Carter revealed that doctors’ reports indicated that the 34-year-old victim, who was believed to support the Coalition for Democratic Change, died as a result of internal bleeding. He further shared that Solomon was a victim of an aggravated assault during a riot on August 11, 2023, which occurred during the campaign season in Montserrado County, involving supporters of the ruling CDC.

The police spokesperson informed the media that they have obtained video footage of the incident from the internet and will diligently examine it as part of their investigation. He assured the grieving family of Joshua Solomon that justice will be served, and the culprits will face the consequences of their actions.
