Aggrieved workers of the National Transit Authority (NTA) on Monday, August 9, 2021, staged another protest, this time around their premises, in demand of salary and arrears.
The entrance of the NTA was blocked by the protesting workers with the buses, thus paralyzing normal activities.
They were seen in a rather angry tone chanting, “we want our pay and better working condition.”
The mediation efforts of Transport Minister Samuel Wlue during the protest were unsuccessful.
The striking workers accused Minister Wlue of having downplayed their grievances, which they had previously engaged several times.
Police, during the demonstration, used tear gas to disperse the protesters.
