
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia Maj. Gen. Prince C. Johnson has disclose that the criminal investigation service of the Armed Forces of Liberia has completed it report of an alleged violation of article 120b, rape of the uniform code of military justice by leut. Nyankun E. Williams of the Armed Forces of training command against a sixteen (16) year old victim, a daughter of sagernt Robert.
According to the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia, leut. Col. Williams was relief of his post as commandant of the Armed Forces Training Command ( AFTC) since April 29,2021. Also on the same day, the father of the alleged victim Sargent Robert was recalled from a peace keeping mission to aid with the investigation.
Speaking at a press conference in Monrovia May 17,2021, the AFL Chief of Staff asserted that the report has been completed and it’s findings has been forwarded to the High Command for further actions. He noted that the report was submitted to the Ministry of National Defense to be viewed by the Minister Hon Daniel D. Ziankahn and take action where necessary.
He at the same time said the AFL remains a force for good, upholding professionalism and discipline in line with the Constitution of Liberia, the Uniform code of military justice and the National Defense Act of 2018.
He went on by appreciating the support of everyone especially the Liberia National Police during the period of internal investigation.
