Defendants Malam Conte and Three Others Pleaded Not Guilty in the Alleged US$100M Cocaine Case

The following is the reading of the indictment by the Clerk of the Court to the four defendants.

It can be recalled the grand jury of Montserrado County indicted four persons in connection with the US$100 million cocaine arrested at Sonit Brother Corporation.

Defendants Adulai Djibri Djalo, Makki Admeh Issam, and Oliver Zayzay, were charged with money laundering, unlicensed possession of controlled drugs, unlicensed importation of controlled drugs, and criminal conspiracy.

The indictment revealed that co-defendant Malam Conte was arrested by officers of the joint security for being in possession of US$200,000, which he claimed was given to him by Co-defendant Adulai Djalo, a Portuguese national..

The grand jury indictment indicated that before the arrival of the container at the Freeport of Monrovia, defendant Malam Conte, a citizen of Guinea Bissau, and Adulai Djalo arrived in Monrovia September 19, 2022, in anticipation of the arrival of the container.
