For Intervening in Land Dispute, Civil Law Court at the Temple of Justice Summons Senator Saah Joseph and Representative Edward Flomo Under Charges of Contempt

The Montserrado County Senator and Representative of District 13 are summoned by the Court Judge, Kennendy Peadbody.

He said they are to appear to show cause, if any, why they should not be held in contempt of Court for allegedly obstructing the mandate of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

Based on a writ of summon served on Thursday, April 6, 2023, the two lawmakers are to appear before the Court on Friday at 9:00am.

Our courtroom reporter said the action by the court is based on a land dispute case involving the management of Younis brothers (plaintiff) and Pastor George (defendant).

It can be recalled that on 25th March 2023, Senator Saah Joseph rushed to intervene after being informed by Representative Flomo district of a demolition exercise around the CEMENCO Community.

The Montserrado Senator, having arrived on the scene, requested that the police who were enforcing the demolition exercise to see the document from the court ordering the action.

The commander resisted and stated to the Senator that he was acting on the order of the court, and as such he was not questionable to the CDC lawmaker.
