Carter Center Liberia has donated assorted office supplies to the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency.
The handover ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 14, 2022, at the Headquarters of the LDEA in Fiamah, Sinkor.
The Carter Center however acknowledged the longstanding relationship with the agency and vowed to always work closely with the LDEA.
Making the donation on behalf of Carter Center Liberia, James Dorbor Jallah, Country Representative of Carter Center Liberia said the donation of the items to the LDEA is in keeping with an MOU signed and entered into by both institutions as a way of complementing security efforts in the country.
The assorted office supplies donated by Carter Center in Monrovia include three (3) Lenovo Laptop Computers; three (3) Canon I-Sensys Printers; one (1) “55” inches Smart Television; one (1) H2 DVD Deck, one (1) 500VA Stabilizer and a set of HDMI Extension Cable.
Carter Center Country Representative added that the items will basically enhance IT-related activities, especially during training exercises and presentations that are done virtually.
He averred that Carter Center Liberia has provided similar support to other law enforcement institutions in the country and is about time the LDEA benefits the same.
He at the same time extolled the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and disclosed that the donation was made possible through (INL) with funding from the U.S. State Department.
Receiving the items on behalf of the LDEA, Director General Hon. Marcus Zehyoue lauded Carter Center Liberia for the gesture terming it as significant in ensuring an enhanced capacity for the institution.
He noted that the LDEA welcomes donations and will ensure they are well-maintained and utilized.
He further pleaded with the institution to increase the level of support so as to enable the LDEA to deliver on its mandate.
Meanwhile, the LDEA boss returned home over the weekend following an International conference of Chiefs of Police (IACP) held in Dallas Texas, United States of America.
While attending the conference in the US, Director Zehyuoe used the occasion to establish friendly relations that are mutually beneficial to the interest of the LDEA.
