JFL Accuses President Weah of Undermining Anti-Graft Institutions

The group which refers to itself as the Justice Forum Liberia (JFL) has accused President Weah of what it terms as undermining anti-graft institutions clothed with the sole responsibility to probe into alleged corruption acts.

According to the Executive Director of JFL, Maxson S. Kpakio, His Excellency, Dr. George Manneh Weah needs to put aside all political alignments and clothe himself with the political-will aimed at bringing alleged perpetrators of corruption to face the full weight of the law despite their status in society, The Independent Newspaper said.

Speaking further, JFL’s Mr. Kpakio indicated that the Head of State’s latest action to have allowed his Legal Advisor, Mr. Archibald Bernard, to take on the role and function of LACC, in adjudicating Madam Keita for her alleged involvement in soliciting a bribe from a team of S/African investors amounts to “aiding and abetting” the alleged act.

It can be recalled that of late, Madam Makenneh Keita, Coordinator of Special Presidential Projects, was reportedly accused of soliciting kickback in the tone of US$5Million from a team of foreign investors, an act for which she was suspended until a full scale investigation is done.
