LACC Frowns on Irresponsible Attitude of Public Officials

Liberia’s anti-graft office, the Liberia Anti-corruption Commission has warned public officials that have been invited to the Commission for investigation to be in strict compliance with security regulations.

The LACC in a statement on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 said public officials attempting to force their way into the premises of the Commission with armed bodyguards and battle cries will not be tolerated.

The LACC has characterized these attitudes as irresponsible and has a propensity to endanger Commission leaders and investigators and to suppress the results of investigative processes.

The Commission once again reminded public servants of its mandate as enshrined in the Act and stressed that it would not be intimidated by these actions.

The Commission also informs individuals coming for investigation at the LACC to come ONLY with their Lawyers.

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission wants to use the medium to inform public officials that it’s taking additional steps to ensure the safety of its employees as the commission ventures deep into critical processes in the interest of the state and its people.
