LACC Investigates NTA MD for Alleged Financial Impropriety

Barely 24 hours after some aggrieved workers of the National Transit Authority (NTA) staged a protest before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, calling for the immediate dismissal of the Managing Director, Habbie McCauley, accusing him of several malfeasances at the NTA on Thursday afternoon, was sent to the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) headquarters in Congo Town for questioning.

The Director General of NTA is under investigation by the LACC regarding allegations of financial impropriety.

The LACC investigation was initiated due to the recent protests by NTA workers, citing acts of corruption involving the MD.

His invitation comes just a few days after the House of Representatives adopted several pieces of legislation giving the LACC prosecutorial powers.
