
A man participating in the ongoing recruitment exercise of the Armed Forces of Liberia ( AFL)has collapsed.
Addressing newsmen in Monrovia on Friday, February 18, 2022, Deputy Defense minister for Public Affairs, Sam Collins said they regret the situation and are doing everything possible to console the bereaved family.
Collins, who could not disclose the name of the deceased, noted that before his demise, he was attended to by the medical battalion of the Army.
The Deputy Defense Minister noted that due to the severity of the matter, the deceased was hurriedly rushed to the government Hospital in the County where he suddenly died.
Since the pronouncement of new recruits into the Armed Forces of Liberia, thousands have and continue to troop at several venues in anticipation of joining the military.
Though the estimated number for the recruitment is being placed at 350, over 10,000 Liberians have shown out for the exercise.
Recently, President George M. Weah during his Armed Force’s Day, remarks pleaded with authorities of the Defense Ministry to step up the number to 1000.
