National Elections Commission discloses the total of one million, four hundred thirty-five thousand two hundred and nine registered during phase one of the BVR in the first six counties

The National Elections Commission has released preliminary results of registered voters from phase one of the Biometric Voter Registration with a total of one million, four hundred thirty-five thousand, two hundred nine registered voters from across the six counties.

Addressing a major press conference Monday at its headquarters, NEC Chairperson, Davidettta Brown Lasannah noted that the six counties which include Bong, Gbarpolu, Grand Bassa, Grand Cape Mount, Margibi and Monsterrado constitute a total of one thousand sixty-five (1065) registration centers, which were duly received, verified, and tallied.

The statistics show that seven hundred eleven thousand, four hundred ten (711,410) registrants are females while seven hundred twenty-three thousand, seven hundred ninety-nine (723,799) were male.

Madam Lasannah assured the public that deduplication is in full swing and the commission will do everything to come down on perpetrators with the help of the Justice Ministry.
