The Youth League of the CDC has called on the National Elections Commission to address key challenges faced by citizens during phase one of the Biometric Voter Registration.

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Coalition for Democratic Change headquarters in Congo Town, the Secretary General of the Youth League, Hassan Newland, named limited centers created by the NEC as one of the challenges.

Mr. Newland said as a result, there were overcrowding of various registration centers, coupled with capacity problems with some NEC staff.

He added the Youth League also observed in Grand Cape Mount County the lack of sufficient registration centers in Kinjor Town District # 2, Jenne Liberia and Bo Waterside of District #3.

The Youth League Secretary reminded the NEC that it has sole responsibility to uphold the crucial portion of the peace and democracy through the conduct of the free elections.
