Representative Rustonlyn Dennis Terms U.S. Ambassador’s Recent Statement as Unfair to the Legislature and Misleading to the Public

Montserrado County District Four Representative, Rustonlyn Dennis has termed the recent statement made by United States Ambassador, Michael McCarthy as unfair to the legislature and misleading to the public.

It can be recalled that on the 24th of April, U.S. Ambassador Michael McCarthy in a press release, highlighted multiple issues including bad governance, lack of accountability, and misappropriation of public funds among others while touring the country in three weeks.

But in response on her official Facebook page Tuesday, Representative Dennis termed the statement as painful for Ambassador McCarthy to have made such a blanket comment implicating the entire legislature.

She expressed frustration with the Ambassador’s statement, stressing that his judgment is not only unfair but misleading and it has confused the citizens more than alerted them.

The District Four lawmaker said Ambassador McCarthy had even mentioned that 30 senators and 73 lawmakers spent 65 million United States Dollars feathering their nests proving that agony and bitterness took hold of him.

Representative Dennis noted the Ambassador that before he came to Liberia, they (legislators) have advocated strongly, especially the like-minded lawmakers for the well-being of the citizens.
