The plenary of the Liberian Senate has forwarded an Engrossed Bill Number 12 Entitle, “An Act to Repeal the 2008 Act Creating the Grand Bassa County Community College and to Establish in Lieu Thereof a Grand Bassa University College and Grant it a Charter” to its Committee on Education for review.
According to a communication sent to the Liberian Senate by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives, the bill was passed into law on Tuesday, August 6, 2021 and forwarded to the Senate for concurrence.
The bill when passed into law following concurrence from the House of Elders, will transition the Grand Bassa County Community College a full degree granting Grand Bassa University College for citizens of the county, including other parts of the country.
Following the second reading of the communication from the Lower House during the regular Tuesday session of the Liberian Senate, Grand Kru County Senator Numene Bartekwa through a motion request that august body to forward the bill to the House Committee on Education to report back to plenary next Thursday.
