Special National Budget Unanimously Passed by House of Representatives

The House of Representatives on Tuesday unanimously voted to pass the Special National Budget of 2021 in the tune of US$342,000,000.

Plenary took the decision following a report from the Joint Committee on Ways, Means, Finance, and Development Planning and Public Accounts and Expenditure.

The executives on May 26, 2021 submitted a draft budget in the tone of US$301.5 million from domestic incomes. The special budget covers incomes generated from July 1 to December 2021.

Speaking to Legislative Reporters following the passage of the Budget, the House Chairman on Ways, Means, Finance & Development Planning, Thomas Fallah said Health and Education were mainly considered in this year’s special national budget.

The budget has been sent to the Senate for concurrence, and subsequently, to pass into law.
