PUL Expresses Shock Over the Death of Journalist Horatio Bobby Willie

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) said they are shocked by the death of Journalist Horatio Bobby Willie.

According to family, sources report Mr. Willie died on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center after period of illness.

The deceased Liberian Journalist was employed with the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) up to his death. He also worked for the Gender & Social Protections Ministry and as Assistant Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of Information Services at the Finance Ministry.

Prior to these roles in government, Willie had an outstanding journalism career with the defunct Radio Varitas and Star Radio.

Meanwhile, Haratio Bobby Willie’s diligence in sports reporting earned him respect in the sporting community in Liberia. This is topped by his professional peer electing him Vice President of the Sports Writers Association (SWAL).

The Press Union of Liberia extends its deepest sympathies to his immediate family and the journalism community, both mainstream and public relations.
