Benoni Urey, the political leader of the All Liberian Party, is set to reveal Henry Costa as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.
The announcement is expected to be made in the near future, following former Vice President Joseph Boakai’s rejection of Costa as his running mate.
Urey, who lost the presidential race in 2017, had previously supported Boakai for the 2023 presidency, but this was halted after the ALP’s choice for Boakai’s VP was turned down.
Many members of the ALP, including Costa, have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Unity Party’s decision to select Jeremiah Koung as running mate, a choice which they view as a betrayal by the former VP.
Meanwhile, Costa has accused Koung of selling human parts, which has been denied by the latter.
