As six opposition political parties over the weekend signed the admittance declaration agreement with the ruling CDC, President George Weah has expressed hope that the agreement will constitute strong bloc of the grand coalition to make it an indomitable force in the 2023 elections.
It can be recalled that six opposition political parties officially joined the Coalition for Democratic Change at the headquarters of the People’s Liberation Party in Congo Town to form a grand coalition ahead of the elections.
Saturday, April 8, 2023, the six parties held an official ceremony at the headquarters of the Movement for Economic Empowerment to sign the admittance declaration agreement and were declared official members of the CDC.
Speaking after signing the document by all parties, including President Weah, the Liberian leader called on the new members to practice the doctrine of the CDC – their new home.
He also expressed delight at the admittance of the six new political parties into the CDC, adding it will mitigate the multiplicity of political parties in the country.
