The Coalition for Democratic Change-Council of Patriots(CDC-COP) has described Henry P. Costa interview with Dr. Alan White as a Stage-Managed stunt and prosaic propaganda against Liberia’s sovereignty and its people.According to the group the podcast was initiated to appease Costa’s angry-illogical followers that always celebrate whenever negativity is mentioned with the nation.
In a release issued Friday, May 21, 2021, the group provided what it calls logical evidences to validate that White’s Was used as an Opposition propaganda Apologist:
In their statement they noted that America and Liberia are traditional allies, therefore if America wants to make statement to Liberia, they have Embassy in Liberia to do that rather than using a private citizen. According to them, America didn’t send an Alan White before sanctioning Hon. Varney Sherman. America uses her Embassy near Monrovia to speak on her behalf.
The release also stressed that how can Alan White celebrate Benoni Urey of Charles Taylor and Yekeh Kolubah of SOD but demonize Prince Johnson only. They noted that It’s unethical to see an American being used by opposition to mislead the public.
They also mentioned that throughout the interview, Dr. White mentioned only current government supporters as Warlords. The release quote them as saying that “Are we saying that Urey, Yekeh, George Borley, Joe Boakai etc. are not participants of the TRC report? The answer is, they are all people of interest but Dr. White came to blind his eyes to the reality of the War Crimes Court. He came to threaten CDC supporters to appease CPP fanatics”.
The CDC- COP encouraged the people of Liberia to take the interview as an inconsequential podcast played to score Opposition political points and according to them the celebration of CPP-COP supporters after the interview can be the judge.
Meanwhile, the CDC Council of Patriots called on Dr. White to be cognizant of the Geneva Convention that gives Independence status to all sovereign nations. According to the release His Opposition meddling into Liberia’s politics is anti-democratic and unethical. They noted that they welcome international partners to help in the process of ending impunity but purporting as an advocate to exhibit a propaganda machinery attitude is horrible for an American citizen.
In this same vein, they called on Liberians around the globe to know that Liberia’s democracy is under Opposition attack to satisfy their taste for power.
