The act of removing the campaign banner featuring George Weah and Jewel Howard Taylor from the national headquarters of the People’s Unification Party has been denounced as a politically immature move by party officials.
According to Benjamin Massaquoi, the PUP’s National Vice Chair for Administration, a group of unidentified individuals stormed the Party’s headquarters on Saturday and forcibly took down a banner that prominently displayed the photographs of President George Weah, Vice President Jewel-Howard Taylor, and Margibi Senator Emmanuel Nuquay.
Massaquoi explained that the banner had been strategically placed in front of the party’s headquarters as a symbol of unwavering support for George Weah, the standard-bearer of the CDC.
