The endorsement event for former Vice President Joseph Boakai, organized by the Movement of One Liberia (MOL), suffered from poor attendance and was likened to a mere community meeting, with less than a hundred people in attendance.
This is a stark contrast to the usual crowd that attends political endorsements in Liberia, which usually attract hundreds if not thousands of people.
The event, which took place on Friday, May 26, 2023, was held at the MOL headquarters and was attended by major opposition actors, including Senators Nylombee Kangar-Lawrence, Jeremiah Koung, Botoe Kanneh, and others.
However, it failed to draw in more people, and sources close to MOL political leader, Mandella Cooper, have disclosed that she was deeply disappointed in the low turnout.
This gathering marks the first of its kind since the pronouncement of the opposition ticket, and pundits predict that it could signify a gradual loss of popularity for the Unity Party, leading to future rejection.
