Rep. Smith COS Sharply Reacts to Statement from CDC Youth League Against the Lawmaker

The office of Montserrado County District #2 Representative  Jimmy Smith has reacted to a statement made by the National Youth League of the ruling  Congress for Democratic Change that he allegedly took $25, 000 United State Dollars from the political leader of the opposition Alternative National Congress, Alexander Cummings to instigate confusion within the CDC.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Alfred Tokpah, chief of staff in Representative Smith’s office said the statement is false and that it is completely untrue.

According to Tokpah, the statement is an insult and a complete disrespect from the youth league to a stalwart of the party, as such he is calling on the National Executive Committee of the party to speedily investigate the issue and take appropriate disciplinary actions.

At the same time, the office of Jimmy Smith has distanced itself from the statement made by Joes Tarnue who is one of the staff in his office against President George Weah, and called on him to desist from such attitude.

It can be recalled, recently Tarnue posted on his Facebook page that if the government does not do anything to improve the living standard of the Liberian people, he and other will resist partisan George Weah from entering the compound of the CDC Headquarter in Congo Town.
