Janjay Baikpeh, the Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, has stated that the Boakai-Koung Ticket is not a strong contender to defeat President George Weah in the upcoming Presidential and Legislative Elections on October 10th.
In fact, Baikpeh believes that the ticket will only provide a boost to President Weah’s re-election bid, and will not pose a threat to any other political actor.
Baikpeh attributes this to Senator Koung’s previous five years of service in the Legislature, where he championed policies of the Government of Liberia.
According to Baikpeh, the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is solely focused on President Weah’s unprecedented developments across the country aimed at improving the welfare of Liberians.
In effect, Baikpeh describes the Boakai-Koung Ticket as an indirect support to President Weah’s re-election, and predicts that the October 10th poll will result in a one-round victory for the CDC, with no obstacles in sight to stop President Weah from continuing his progress.
