All aspirants vying for political office must remove any promotional materials, such as billboards, posters, banners, jingles, and more, from their current locations by midnight on May 15, 2023, according to the National Elections Commission’s latest mandate.
The commission has been keeping track of violations of campaign regulations since May 5 of this year, as previously stated.
During the bi-monthly biometric voter registration briefing on Monday, NEC Chairperson Davidetta Brown Lassanah cautioned any aspiring candidates who engaged in pre-campaign activities to cease doing so to prevent future problems.
She emphasized that aspirants who fail to comply with the mandate will face consequences during the candidate nomination process, which runs from June 14 to July 14, 2023.
In the meantime, the NEC Chief assured all Liberians, stakeholders, and electoral participants that the Commission will continue to work toward the successful conclusion of the Biometric Voter Registration process.
