The office of the First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, H.E Madam Clar Marie Weah, made a donation of 400 copies of the Holy Quran to the united Da’Wah Ummah Islamic Institution at the climax of the 5th edition of the Liberia National Quranic Competition, held at the 17th Street Mosque in Sinkor, Monrovia.
The donation included four scholarships to be given in two schools in Sinoe County to Islamic students.
Speaking during the Presentation, the Executive Assistant in the office of the First Lady, Mr.Varney Karama Said as part of the first lady’s passion for Studies, love for religious tolerance, and Inclusion, has decided to donate four hundreds Quranic books to the United Dawah Ummah Scholarly competition to enhance the studies for Islamic Students and the proper search for scriptures by many Muslims through the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Varney disclosed that the First Lady of Liberia has also awarded Four Islamic Students Scholarship from Sinoe County as a means of decentralizing the Competition.
Also speaking, the Religious Advisor to the President on Islamic Affairs, Usemane T.Jalloh, expressed thanks and appreciation to the First Lady for fair sightedness by looking through the direction of the Muslim community as they observed the Holy Month of Ramadan
He furthered that the First Lady will forever be blessed by Allah, because since the formation of Liberia, President Weah is the only president that has recognized the Islamic community by appointing an Islamic Advisor to serve as a mediator between the office of the President and the Muslim people of Liberia.
Advisor Jalloh further instructed students and the United Ummah family to used the donation for its intended purpose.
For his part, the head of the United Dawah Ummah School, Sheikh Mustapha Baldee, appreciated the First lady for her efforts and prayed for more blessings from Allah to her, as she continues to do good things in these times of prayer for all Muslims in Liberia.
He said the Holy books will be used properly to preach and sell Allah in Liberia and the World.
