
The Liberian Senate has concurred with the House of Representatives to elevate the Grand Bassa Community College to University status.
According to reports, the Senate concurred and amended a portion of the bill introduced by Representative Matthew Joe in the Lower House
, stating that the word college will be removed, and the school will be called Grand Bassa University.
In a Facebook post from Representative Matthew Joe, the bill is being forwarded to the President of the Republic of Liberia for signature and would be subsequently printed into handbills.
Joe appreciated the Chairman on Education at the Liberian Senate, Hon. Prince K. Moye of Bong County and his committee members.
He expressed his gratitude to the Senators of Grand Bassa County which includes Senator Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence and Jonathan Kaipay.
The role played by the Senate has restored hope for students of Grand Bassa County anticipating to earn Bachelors Degrees.
