Authorities of the Liberia National Police have launched an investigation into the industrial accident at the Liberia Agriculture Company (LAC) in Grand Bassa County.
The launch of the investigation follows the gruesome death of an employee of the company, Emmanuel Joe, over the weekend.
According to the Liberia Broadcasting System, Police Spokesman Moses Carter said the investigation is aimed at establishing circumstances surrounding the cause of the incident.
ELBC quotes Carter as saying officials of the company and concerned individuals are currently being investigated to ascertain the actual cause of the incident.
The state broadcaster also quotes Grand Bassa County Electoral District#4 Representative Vincent Willie as saying; the man reportedly fell into an industrial rubber grinder machine which led to his sudden death.
Rep. Willie asserted that he has already met with the family of the deceased, but the company has expressed no regret on the situation.
Meanwhile, the Management of the company has not commented on the incident despite all efforts.
