Ministry of Labor Gives 30-day Ultimatum for Arcelor Mittal Liberia to Address Workers Concerns; Says its Ruling Discovers Huge Salary Disparities and Additional Bad Labor Practices

The Ministry of Labor has issued a 30-day ultimatum for the Management of Arcelor Mittal Liberia to begin addressing huge salary disparity, salary increments, and job title grading structure for workers of the company.

The latest action followed a ruling handed down by Labor Minister Charles Gibson, into a 2021 stalemate between workers and the Arcelor Mittal Management, regarding unresolved issues the workers have had with the company’s Management.

In a ruling on Tuesday, April 11, Minister Gibson asserted that Arcelor Mittal conceded to the huge Labor violation; noting that efforts should be taken by the Management to address the plight of workers within the stipulated time frame.
