Former Deputy Speaker and District One Representative, Hans Barchue has won the Grand Bassa Legislative Caucus’ Chairmanship.
The Grand Bassa county district one lawmaker won unopposed this painting a healthy relationship with his colleagues.
For his part, Senator Jonathan L. Kaipay defeats Hon. Matthew Fairplay Joe in an Election for the Co-chairman post.
Despite being nominated for the second time to contest for the Secretary General post, Representative Matthew Fairplay Joe received another defeat from Wee District Representative, Vincent S. T. Willie, thus maintaining him as Secretary General of the Caucus.
Additionally, Representative Mary Karwor of Electoral District two (2) was elected as Treasurer of the Legislative Body.
The election was conducted on Tuesday, April 5 in Buchanan under the Gable of Acting Chairman Vincent Willie.
Making the disclosure to reporters Rep. Willie, said that immediately after the 13th Development Council Sitting, Liberia’ former Deputy Speaker Hans Barchue and other elected officers will begin executing their duties.
