Judge Wesseh of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in River Gee County has publicly stated his intention to discipline Judge Nelson Chinneh of Civil Law Court “B” and other lawyers for their failure to attend the court’s opening.
As a relieving Judge, he believes that his colleagues’ absence undermines the court’s jurisdiction. Therefore, he has fined Judge Chinneh, former Solicitor General Cllr. Sayma Syrenius Cephus, and other lawyers to pay $50 each in the judiciary account within 72 hours or risk further legal actions.
Judge Wesseh’s actions are part of the broader rebranding process of the Judiciary, aligning with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh.
The list of fined lawyers includes Cllr. Dempster Brown, Cllr. Jerome N. Verdier, Cllr. Negbalee Warner, and others.
