Paris Saint-Germain, the French football powerhouse, has announced that Lionel Messi will leave the club at the end of the current season.
The Argentine will play his final game for the team against Clermont Foot on June 3rd. PSG manager Christophe Galtier confirmed the news at a press conference on Thursday.
While Inter Miami is one of the many teams interested in acquiring Messi’s talents, Christophe has confirmed that his final game with PSG will be against Clermont Foot.
Messi joined PSG in 2021 and has won two Ligue 1 titles.
He has hinted that leaving Barcelona allowed him to mature as a player and develop the leadership qualities he displayed in winning the Qatar World Cup in December.
There have been rumors that Messi could make a sensational return to the Camp Nou, but Barcelona might struggle to financially make a move.
Alternatively, L’Equipe has suggested that Messi could join Inter Miami and be loaned to the Catalan club.
Inter Miami has offered Messi a lucrative package, and there is still interest from Asian clubs.
PSG has already won the Ligue 1 title, and Messi’s father has clarified that there is no decision made about his son’s club for next season.
