National County Sports Meet Quarter Final is set for Saturday, ..at the refurbished SKD sports stadium outside Monrovia.

Liberian football  authorities,  are working assiduously to get FIFA to lift its ban on  the SKD sport pitch.

The field was banned by the world’s football body, because Liberia failed to certify FIFA’s regulations.

But from the look of things, the news coming from the SKD stadium is encouraging.

This Saturday, January 8th, 2022- football fans  will enjoy a new comfort with the installation of new bucket seats unlike before.

“Our stadium wing spectators will enjoy a new comfort with the installation of new bucket seats,  unlike before,  and we are also hopeful of the completion of gate two bucket Seats installation before Saturday”, he told reporters

Youth and Sports Minister,  D.Zeogar Wilson disclosed that the event on Saturday, will  begin with a parade from ELWA Junction to the SKD sports complex in Paynesville City.

The five categories in the tournament include:  Football, Kickball, Basketball, Volleyball and Athletics.

This year’s county meet is being held under the theme: Celebrating 200 years of togetherness through sports.

Minister Wilson said, both the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Internal Affairs along with the committee have been working to ensure that the annual tournament becomes a success.

Mr.  Wilson Speaking At MICAT Regular Press briefing on Thursday, he named Grand Bassa County as the official host County of the 2022/2023 National County Sports meet.

Other three venues for the 2022/2023 edition of the County Meet  are : Bong, Lofa and Maryland Counties.

Meanwhile, the quarter final stage of the competition on Saturday will see in the kickball category: Grand Bassa vs Grand Gedeh , Margibi Vs Maryland, while in the football version , Grand Bassa will knock boots with Grand Gedeh and Maryland will take on Margibi.

On Sunday , Nimba will play Lofa in Kickball and Bomi vs Rivercess.

In Football , Nimba will play Grand Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Vs Rivercess

On Tuesday January 11, 2022, the tournament will continue with both basketball and volleyball matches respectively.
