
As Liberia Lone Star whipped Central Africa Republic 1-0, the Co-Chair on Sports, Hon. Frank Saah Foko Jr has, called for a budgetary increment for the national team.
Speaking to a team of reporters in Monrovia, Foko Jr., District #9 Representative, noted that the legislature needs to allocate funds to help improve the various national teams.
Hon. Foko disclosed that football is money, so if Liberians want the national team to do extraordinary things, they need to be supported financially, which will serve as a medium of encouragement for players to do better and keep them together.
He stressed that although Lone Star lost to Nigeria in their first game, their win against the Central Africa Republic has served as a wake-up call to qualify them for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
He further mentioned that under CDC-led government, sports in Liberia is taking a new trajectory, stating construction for sports athletes could help them realized their dreams.
